Overview
Jake Hunter: Detective Chronicles, known as Tantei Jinguji Saburo: Inishie no Kioku in Japan, is a collection of ports of mobile phone remakes of the first four installments in the Tantei Jinguji Saburo adventure game franchise. Along with the remakes the title also includes ports of various episodes that were originally created for mobile phones in Japan and an all new episode called "Memories of the Past". The title was developed by WorkJam and was initially released in Japan on July 19, 2007 for the Nintendo DS. Later, Aksys Games published the collection in the United States on June 11, 2008 and localized the title to take place in America rather than Japan, with the main character's name being changed to Jake Hunter. However, the English version also cut three of the game's six cases and removed all of the bonus episodes as well. Aksys later amended this in May 26, 2009 with the release of Jake Hunter Detective Story: Memories of the Past which retained all of the cases in the original Japanese release and polished the scripts for the first three cases.
