Overview

Nether : by Phosphor Games (Chicago)

Nether is a first-person survival game akin to DayZ, Minecraft, Rust and others. The game is based off of survival after the "Cull." The Cull was an epic phenomenon that turned people inside out, they were not the same anymore, they became, something else. Now as a survivor you are placed in an open world sand box of a city and fight to stay alive.

Tribes

Nether now has a tribe feature (April #1 Patch) which lets the player pay a small fee to enlist into one of eight tribes. Once in a tribe, the player can accrue loyalty with their tribe by killing Nether, players belonging to an enemy tribe, capturing territory, and completing missions. Loyalty can be gained with all factions for every courier package delivered between outposts.

Monetization

Nether features cosmetics that require Nether Gold to purchase from its in-game Global Inventory shop. Nether Gold is purchased through the game's website that can be spent on helmets, masks, colored flashlights, taunts, outfits, etc. Many cosmetics can also be purchased with in-game currency (dollars). A few items that can be purchased with Nether Gold can still be lost on death. Most items however will stay tied to the player account.
