Bushido

Bushido: The Way of The Warrior is a martial arts side view PC DOS game made in 1983. It could very well be considered the first of all later-day 2D fighting games.

Though there is no clear story in Bushido: The Way of the Warrior, the player visits three locations inside and outside of a dojo where a variety of enemies must be battled.

The player character, a kung-fu master, is controlled using the keyboard. Various kicks and punches can be delivered by using the 9-key cursor commonly found on keyboards at the time.
