Video Meanies (1986)

“Video Meanies” follows the story of a maintenance droid tasked with activating all fifteen video game machines in an arcade set in a villain-filled castle. Some machines are outdoors, while others are in locked rooms. Keys are scattered throughout the arcade, many of them hidden behind locked doors. The droid must find matching keys to unlock doors and access more keys or machines. Upon reaching a machine, the droid can choose to gamble for an extra life or its own demise, or it can skip the game, activate the machine, and earn a bonus based on its remaining energy. Every room is filled with various dangers, adding to the challenge of the mission.
