A follow-up to 1993's Invasion of the Mutant Space Bats of Doom, Return of the Mutant Space Bats of Doom added a number of new rounds, new enemy types, and new power-ups while retaining all of the standard gameplay mechanics found in the original.
While originally sold as shareware via mail-order by publisher and developer Pop Software throughout the 1990s, the game also surfaced in 2001 and was sold by a resurrected Pop Software via PayPal for some time. By 2002 though, the game was no longer being distributed in any capacity, both mail-order or online.
