PC Fossil Echo is a 2D platformer. Its gameplay is mostly precision platforming, with very demanding jumps and timing. It also adds some stealth elements to the mix with infiltration sections. The main character is a little boy and is unable to attack directly, so the player has to try to avoid confrontation and sneak past ennemies.
The game is very story-driven and has a lot of fully animated 2D cutscenes. It tells the tale of a young boy who sets out to climb a giant tower on a small island in the middle of the ocean. The story is told without any words and unravels through flashbacks as you climb the tower and go to sleep each night.
