Gambler Jiko Chuushinha 2: Gekitou! Tokyo Mahjong Land Hen

Masayuki Katayama's mahjong-playing manga characters return in this Mega CD outing published by Lunar's Game Arts.

Overview

Gambler Jiko Chuushinha 2: Gekitou! Tokyo Mahjong Land Hen ("Self-Centered Gambler School 2: Fierce Battle! Tokyo Mahjong Land Edition") is a mahjong game for the Sega CD, and the sequel/successor to Gambler Jiko Chuushinha: Katayama Masayuki no Mahjong Dojo for the Mega Drive. The game is based on Masayuki Katayama's Gambler Jiko Chuushinha manga and its expanded universe, which builds comical scenarios around games of mahjong.

The game features four players (up to two of which can be controlled by human players) and over fifty characters to choose from, many of which are pop culture parodies like Rodan, Black Jack, or Freddy Krueger. The player can also choose to follow the game's story mode, set in the titular theme park of Tokyo Mahjong Land, which puts them up against increasingly tougher groups of opponents.

It later received an enhanced port to the Sega Saturn on October 18, 1996, under the name Gambler Jiko Chuushinha: Tokyo Mahjong Land.
