For 2019 I ran two prototyping classes – one in Pico-8 for the undergraduates and a graduate version with no platform constraint (which generally means they work in Unity). So this year I hid the same prompt in two different interpretations of the same idea. I tuned the Pico-8 game for the youthful reflexes of the undergraduate class, but I did not count on the fact that none of them would have ever played a bullet-hell game, and as a result, only one of them was able to reach the end and find out what the assignment was. Legend has it that an ancient orc king called Gadlhan' Thur, conquered much of the known world thanks to the help of a powerful magical object. But the power of the object turned against him and ended up losing his tribe and everything he loved ... They say he died alone, drowned in an unbearable sadness. Since then that object is known as "The Sorrow of Gadhlan 'Thur" The game is finished and there will be a short first batch of 25 cartridges. A second batch will be made in 2 months or more since there are no more 2048k cartridges available at the moment. The game is an ACTION-RPG of exploration and open world where we will find objects and weapons that will give us new skills and allow us to explore more areas of the enormous mapping. The villagers will give us clues and sell us objects, the monsters that populate the province will hunt us as soon as they see us, while we look for "The Sorrow of Gadhlan 'Thur".Doki Doki Don't
