Return of Reckoning is the fan-made continuation of Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning. A small group of players started recording as much information from the last few weeks of the official servers being online with the hope that one day they would be able to play again. Shortly after the servers shut down work began on rewriting the server code with the goal of bringing Warhammer Online back online. Every monster in the world had to be replaced, every quest had to be restored and gaps in archives filled in. Every public quest, dungeon boss, game mechanic had to be coded and scripted again.
