A 2009 Japan-only WiiWare title of the Jinsei Game series, it was critically panned by audiences for its poor quality, severe lack of content and options, and its single piece of in-game music that loops after 19 seconds. The game was made primarily by removing content from Jinsei Game Wii EX. The title was pulled from distribution in late 2010 to make way for a different WiiWare title, Jinsei Game Happy Step.

Chessmaster is the mobile version of the long running PC chess game series. It is similar to the Palm OS game released two years earlier but has some differences in available game modes and features. It is played from a simple top down perspective with 2D graphics but there are several different chess sets to choose from. Games can be played either human vs. human or human vs. computer with eleven different computer skill levels to choose from. During games it is possible to ask for a quick advice and the game then suggests the next move. It is also possible to show opening hints as well as info on legal squares and threatened pieces. There are also options to take back moves and to switch sides during a game.
In addition to the main game mode there is also a quiz mode and classic games. The quiz mode is a series of ten chess puzzles which has to be solved in the shortest time to give a good score. Classic games are recreations of real life chess matches.
