This contest was run mid-September to mid-November of 2001, with the goal of creating maps in the tradition of Tim Elek's 'Coagula' series of maps - a series of structures floating in the void. There were 5 entries: Tronyn(2), Fat Controller, Dilvish, and Necros. In addition, a start map created by Tronyn is included, as well as the original Coagula series by Tim Elek.
Two maps: a large Metal/Wood fortress in the mountains and a small end battle arena, featuring some modified Fiends and Shamblers. Conveys a certain DOOM-like atmosphere.
Evolved from a speedmapping session, this is a large-ish Q1SP decked out mainly in IDbase textures with plenty of natural rocky sections. A chain map by Misyu, Vigil, necros and Xen. The map source is included.
Remake of E1M2 from Quake: a medium-sized medieval castle with many candles. The map was previously released as part of Halloween Jam 2. Among other things, this version features even more candles! Comes with a new bat model and some ambient sounds.
Nine small / medium maps made in a week using MachineGames' new textures for the rerelease. A variety of themes and styles, has something for everyone.
Medium-sized Elder World-style map that features at least one room from each level in the fourth episode of Quake (except for E4M1). An expanded version of the author's Retro Jam 4 entry.
Results of the third Coagula Contest (mid-2009):
Six small space maps by ericw, Golden boy, RickyT23, spy, Trinca, Willem, and a start map by nonentity. Some of them come with the map source and optional skyboxes.
Two-map SP unit: a large medieval dungeon in an underground lava cave (using rtGnosis textures), and a medium sized IKbase-themed stargate facility. It comes with a couple of new sounds and a custom skybox.
A medium-sized vertical map. It starts with a moldy green area from which you ascend into a mechanical exploratory part. After surpassing this you are awarded a tense boss fight. Lots of novel atmospheric effects thanks to the use of Quoth.
