  • Starshine

    Starshine

    2022

    Shooter
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
Starshine is a limit removing wad for Doom 2 set in a techbase ripped from the earth and tossed into space! The goal was to make bases where rock and grass were still barely clinging along as they floated in the lonely void, perhaps after some disastrous teleportation experiment. It's mostly a visual theme and the gameplay is otherwise classic styled, so you won't have to worry about falling into the void while killing demons.
  • Techblast

    Techblast

    2022

    Shooter
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
Techblast is a 2 map wad for Boom compatible ports (tested in GZDoom, Prboom, DSDA Doom and Doom Retro) featuring classic styled techbases and some difficult encounters. MAP01 starts things off with a slower paced exploratory level, then MAP02 escalates into harder encounters. Difficulty levels are supported, and I recommend HMP for the first time through unless you're a very confident player. Freelook is fine, jumping is not. It can be played continuously or with pistol starts.
  • Snowfury

    Snowfury

    2021

    Shooter
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
Snowfury is a single map wad for Boom set in an snowy castle featuring classic styled gameplay. The level should take around 15-20 minutes to complete, and provide a decent challenge. Difficulty levels are supported. Freelook is fine, but avoid jumping. The main gimmick of the map is that it uses a snow effect that doesn't require decorate or a more advanced engine, inspired by the old map "nordhell" by Eternal/Deadall. The effect can break down if you look at it too closely but most of the time it looks pretty nice.
  • Warglaive

    Warglaive

    2021

    Shooter
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
Warglaive is a set of small to medium sized maps focusing on action-packed, difficult, classic-styled gameplay. Difficulty starts off moderate and escalates to very challenging on the later maps, though lowering skill level can ease things up significantly if needed. There are 7 main levels and one bonus level accessed through a secret exit on map 7, which is intended to be a very difficult challenge for seasoned players.

    Glaive 3

    2023

    Shooter
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
10 short, action focused maps for Doom 2, inspired by Scythe. The wad is divided into 2 visual themes. The first 5 maps are techbases, the next 5 are a visual mashup of Shores of Hell, Plutonia and Scythe 2's jungle episode. The gameplay is classic styled mostly without slaughter, but there are some large fights.
  • Glaive 2

    2020

    Glaive 2

    2020

    Shooter
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
This is a set of 7 levels for Doom 2 inspired by the gameplay style of Scythe - short, straightforward, and fast paced, with plenty of action and challenge. While the first Glaive was techbase themed, this set is hell themed and aims to be much harder.

    Glaive

    2018

    Shooter
    PC (Microsoft Windows)
Each map is fairly small and should only take a few minutes to beat, but also should be fairly challenging on UV and be fun to blast through.

In a distant part of the universe, an alien creature called Zelos was born. As he grew so did his appetite, and soon he began devouring galaxies, planets, and stars by the hundreds. Now your planet has appeared in Zelos' path, and it is up to you and a partner to fly into battle to save your world. Salamander is an action-packed shooter where there are six levels which alternate between side and vertical scrolling, each of them ending with a powerful guardian. Throughout the game, destroying certain enemies will release power ups which can be used to equip your ship with more powerful weapons, extra speed, and shields. Gameplay is for one player or two players simultaneously.

Nintendo 3DS Wii Family Computer Wii U
Salamander was ported to the Family Computer in Japan in 1987. Instead of being a direct port of Salamander, elements were taken from the original Salamander and the Japanese Life Force re-release, and some elements, such as levels and bosses, were removed to make way for new content. Most of the background graphics and enemy sprites from Salamander are used in favor of those used in Life Force, though the Gradius-style power bar is used in place of the original instant pick-up system. The same year, North America received a port as well for the Nintendo Entertainment System. The NES version is practically identical to its Famicom equivalent, other than not having the multiple endings, having two option power ups instead of three, and being titled Life Force.

Konami later released an enhanced version of Salamander in Japan in 1987 bearing the American title of Life Force which further fleshes out the organic motif. All of the backgrounds and mechanical enemies are completely redrawn and given organic appearances. The power-up system was also modified, with the Japanese Life Force using the same power-up gauge as the original Gradius. Some music tracks have been completely changed for this release and the power-up gauge is arranged differently for both players.

The Japanese and European versions are nearly identical, but the American version changes the game's plot by adding an opening text that establishes the game to be set inside a giant alien life-form which is infected by a strain of bacteria. Stages that feature starfield backgrounds were changed to the web background from Stage 1 to maintain consistency with the organic setting of the plot. The power-ups are also given different names, with the "Speed-Up" becoming "Hyper Speed", the "Missile" becoming the "Destruct Missile", the "Ripple Laser" becoming the "Pulse Laser" and "Force Field" becoming the "Shield". Narration is added to the beginning of each stage, detailing the area of the alien's body which the player is currently inhabiting such as "Enter stomach muscle zone" or "Bio-mechanical brain attack".
