Black Ops is a standalone fan-made mod that ties all Rainbow Six titles that kinda use the same engine together. Instead of running Rogue Spear using RogueSpear.exe, you can use the latest Black Ops engine to run the game so it works on modern-day systems. All seven Rainbow Six parts merged into one game: Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six (1998), Rainbow Six: Eagle Watch Expansion pack (1999), Rogue Spear (1999), Rogue Spear: Urban Operations (2000), Rainbow Six: Covert Ops Essentials (2000), Rogue Spear: Black Thorn (2001), Rainbow Six: TakeDown - Missions in Korea. Play Rogue Spear and other Rainbow Six parts with the latest 2.61 engine. The game was designed to be a small project and had been made around the idea of setting high scores and competing over them with friends. In year 691 of the celestial calendar, the dimensional control computer "Laxis" ran amok under the influence of an unknown interdimensional energy, striking out against mankind. Using its dimensional powers, Laxis escaped to another era. Using your dimensional controller-equipped power suit, the Arouza, you must hunt down and destroy Laxis. Starting out in space, you control Arouza, which bears an uncanny resemblance to the metal knights in Herzog, as it flies towards the enemy. In the Space Harrier vein, you see your character from behind while enemies appear from the horizon. On later stages, set above the planet surface, the resemblance is stronger, especially since you can run on the ground. You have two weapon systems, consisting of a gun and target-seeking missiles, which have a limited supply. Arouza can be upgraded using powerups released when killing certain enemies.
