Based on the recent decompilation of the mobile version, Sonic the Hedgehog Forever adds a number of abilities, options, and game modes to enhance the experience and celebrate the replayability of the game.
In his second adventure, James Pond must retrieve the toys Dr. Maybe has stolen. Pond has been armed with an Inspector Gadget-style stretch device, which he can use to view higher areas or claw onto ceilings so as to slide across them.
The gameplay takes place across worlds themed around particular types of toys, such as sporting goods, candy, and aircraft. The levels scroll sideways, although a small amount of vertical movement is included. On each level Pond must collect 2 penguins and reach the exit, although there are usually multiple exits and lots of secret areas to explore. After completing each pair of two worlds (each of which has three sub-levels), a boss must be faced.
Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode Metal is a free downloadable "Lock-On" part of the episodic game Sonic the Hedgehog 4, released along side of Episode II. It enables any player who owns both Episode I and Episode II on the same console to play Episode Metal, thereby acting very similar to the Lock-On Technology pioneered by Sonic and Knuckles. Episode Metal explains the backstory to Metal Sonic's return in Episode II and also serves to connect Sonic 4 to Sonic the Hedgehog CD, befitting the latter game's recent re-release on digital download services.

This is an addendum to the Mega Man X5 Improvement Project by DarkSamus993 (v0.01.1). It started in 2019 as a restoration of graphics, songs, and voice clips from the Japanese version and unused soundtrack. In 2021, development resumed with the inclusion of a retranslated script and several new features. The amount of work put on this is now comparable to what's been done in X6 Tweaks. And even though there isn't (and there won't be) a patching tool, there are a few customization options.
