Homebrew port of "Gyruss" for MSX.
Way back in 1984, Parker Brothers released the game Gyruss, which was a conversion from the 1983 Konami arcade game by the same name, for the Colecovision. Gyruss is a semi 3D, or tube shooter that resembles games like Feedback and Space Harrier. Now, almost 28 years later, we finally get to play this game on MSX because GDX made a conversion from the Colecovision version. The conversion is based on the Mission Colecovision emulator for MSX and features some nice improvements such as SCC sound by default and improved support for keyboard and joysticks.
In the distant future the sun around your planet has died off... The only energy source are the "energy spheres". Each of these spheres contains enough energy for a planet to survive for a whole decade, since they are charged with the energy of other stars.
An opportunist civilization has stolen all the charged spheres from your home planet, preparing for a future invasion. As a last chance, the last remaining sources of energy have been transfered to a scout ship and sent to recover the spheres... this is your last chance of survival!
In each level of Transball, the goal is to find the energy sphere, capture it and carry it to the upper part of the level. The main obstacle is the gravity, that pulls you towards the ground. But many other obstacles such as canons, tanks, doors, etc. will make your journey harder than it seems.
Booming Boy features all the components required that will make you enjoy as a classic Japanese arcade game in the first half of the 80's.Place as many bombs as you can, destroy all the obstacles in order to find the hidden power-ups and eliminate your enemies quickly before time runs out. 5 areas consisting of 5 stages with a lot of enemies plus bosses. You will have hours of fun reliving those wonderful moments of amusement arcades.
Unofficial port of 1983 Jungle Hunt game for Colecovision to the MSX. There are two versions: a physical release by ICON Games, and a free release by Muffie.
