    1998

Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Itsuka Kakumei Sareru Monogatari

    1998

    Adventure Visual Novel
    Sega Saturn
Based on the 1997 anime, Shoujo Kakumei Utena: Itsuka Kakumei Sareru Monogatari tells an original story which is set between episodes eight and nine of the TV series. The main character of the game is an original character who transfers to Ohtori Academy. The game is in the style of a visual novel with strong dating sim elements. The major characters each possess a statistic called "Heart's Nobility" which the player affects through dialog choices that appear sporadically during play. Each character's level of Heart's Nobility determines how the game will end. The special endings available for characters that end with particularly high Heart's Nobility represent the game's dating sim element, but because it is set within the larger plot of the TV series the relationships are usually somewhat platonic, or one-sided affections on the part of the main character.

    Sega Saturn Choice Cuts

    1995

    Sega Saturn
Sega Saturn Choice Cuts is a demo disc for the Sega Saturn, released exclusively in North America. It was the first Saturn demo disc to hit American shores, and was bundled with all new consoles during 1995. Most likely due to its early release, there aren't actually any playable demos in Sega Saturn Choice Cuts, just gameplay footage of upcoming or recently released titles, along with promotional material.
  • Sega Screams: Volume 1

    Sega Screams: Volume 1

    1996

    Sega Saturn
Sega Screams Volume 1 is a demo disc for the Sega Saturn, released exclusively in North America with console bundles. Bizarrely Sega of America released this game twice - initially as Sega Saturn Bootleg II (as a "sequel" to Bootleg Sampler). The product in its Bootleg II form is far less common, though aside from a changed title screen (on some discs), the two discs are identical. Unlike Bootleg Sampler, Sega Screams Volume 1 opts for the "standard" Saturn demo disc menus often seen in the European Sega Flash series. Sega Screams Volume 1 was followed by Sega Screams Volume 2.
  • Goiken Muyou: Anarchy in the Nippon

    1997

Goiken Muyou: Anarchy in the Nippon

    1997

    Fighting
    Sega Saturn
Goiken Muyou: Anarchy in the Nippon is a 3D fighting game in the vein of Virtua Fighter (it must be noted that this game was developed by ex-AM2, VF2 staff). Thus, similarly to VF series, there's no fireballs or other special attacks of that kind. But, unlike VF, there's no jump button, even if there's the possibility to jump over opponents for additional damage when they're on the ground. Also, a side-step dodge through the L and R buttons can be done, showing that the game also uses a 3D gameplay.

    The Mansion of Hidden Souls

    1994

    Adventure
    Sega Saturn
This Saturn-exclusive game is actually a sequel to the Sega CD game Mansion of Hidden Souls, even though the title might lead one to believe it is a remake. This game takes place after the events of the first game. The souls of the hidden mansion have asked you to return, because they have recognized that you possess special powers that allow you to see the butterfly manifestations of the souls living there. Something terrible is afoot at the mansion, and you must investigate things and set them right. Along the way you must discover the true purpose of the mansion and it's significance in the universe. Much like the Sega CD game, this is an FMV adventure. You move from location to location via video sequences, and solve puzzles to move on in the story.
