Players take control of Phoenix Shadowalker, a mysterious female bounty hunter that earns bounty by protecting the villagers from the evil spirits at sea. The protagonist can use her sword and the gun she picks up to fight enemies and will automatically switch to shooting when an enemy is far from her, however, Shadowalker can't shoot while jumping. Throughout the game, Shadowalker will also unlock additional skills such as double jumping. Money earned in levels can be spent in stores on better weapons and armor, which can also be found inside chests in some of the levels. Phoenix Wright's obscure mobile debut, released in an episodic format with the first episode acting as a free demo and the rest of the game having to be purchased from the now defunct Capcom World service. Naturally, some sacrifices were made to make the game work within the limitations of the platform. Noticeably the character sprites aren't animated, but they still managed to include the classic sound bites and vibrating objections. Unfortunately, everything past the first episode seems to have been lost to time.
