The story of “The Walk” starts with Matt, who is traveling on a back road to get to a friend's house. After several hours of driving, his car breaks down after going through a tunnel. Matt finds himself in a town called “Nominal Town” and, with no towing options, decides to look for lodging. While walking through the dark streets, he meets a blind man who offers to stay in his house. Matt declines the offer, but the blind man warns him that the town is full of crazies and that at the end of the road there is only nothingness.
Matt continues on his way and stops at a store where the cashier is also surprised to see that Matt is looking for a house at the end of town, since, according to him, there is only empty field there.
