Punishment 2: The Punishing is an infamously brutal 2D platformer developed by Messhof. Players are tasked with climbing a relentlessly difficult, 10-screen-high vertical tower using slippery controls, tiny platforms, and locked doors that require a main switch to be flipped back at the ground level after each level.
This map is heavily inspired by Episode 4 of The Ultimate Doom, especially E4M1 and E4M6. It was originally made for a project called The Ninth Gate that never saw the light of day.

The details are fleshed out in the game via a series of episodic cut-scenes, but the basic gist is that their maniacal appetite for world domination takes them deep into the past - where they expect to brutalize their primitive ancestors with their superior knowledge and technology!
