    Shaman King: Spirit of Shamans is based on the anime, in which you will complete the first half of the overall story featured within the anime/manga series.     The fighting system in Tobal 2 is the same as in the previous game. The player can freely navigate 3D fighting arenas under the condition that he or she faces the opponent. High, medium, and low attacks can be executed using assigned buttons. As in Tobal No. 1, the grappling and blocking system offers the player a variety of offensive and defensive maneuvers. A new unblockable fireball attack has been added for each character. Tobal 2 was released on the same day as Sony's Dual Analog Controller in Japan, noted as the first game compatible with the peripheral. Graphically, the game features Gouraud shaded and higher-resolution character models compared to Tobal No. 1, but still runs at 60 frames per second.

Is the legend true, and can the Fire Champion, a holder of one of the 27 True Runes, be found? Nash, a special agent of Holy Kingdom of Harmonia's Southern Fringe Security Force, is sent to investigate the matter. You take control over Nash' actions in a fashion similar to the one implemented in Japanese "dating sims" or some hentai games: reading the text, looking at the background images, and sometimes interfering and choosing the path on which the story should proceed.

He has to verify the rumor and to bring back as much information as possible. On the way, Nash meets a mysterious woman named Sierra and soon gets involved in a large conflict featuring characters and events from the first and second Suikoden games. Unlike the "mainstream" Suikoden games, this is not a RPG, but a "digital novel". You read text and watch background images, at some points making a decision and leading the story to different paths.
