PCRiver City Ransom 2 was the intended sequel to River City Ransom for the NES, and was in development at Miracle Kidz for PC and Wii. The development team included staff that worked on the original game, as well as "core players".
Originally announced for release on WiiWare mid-2011, it was later delayed until 2012. In October 2012, Magic Kidz revealed that development had been put on hold indefinitely, and that the studio had moved on to other projects.
