Advanced Destroyer Simulator (ADS) is a World War 2 naval combat simulation featuring the H.M.S. Onslaught, a British O-class destroyer. Players command the vessel in real-time from a first-person perspective, navigating three scenarios across the Mediterranean, English Channel, and North Sea. The game offers mission-based gameplay including convoy escorts, submarine hunts, patrol assignments, and blockade runs, with each scenario containing five missions plus an open-ended Delta mode. Combat involves close-quarter exchanges using cannons and torpedoes against various enemy vessels including destroyers, cruisers, and torpedo boats, while defending against Stuka dive bombers and tracking submarines via sonar. Players must manage fuel, ammunition, and repairs by docking at allied ports to complete time-critical objectives. Notable as the first naval simulation to utilize real-time filled 3D graphics, ADS draws mechanical inspiration from Epyx's Destroyer (1986).
