    PC-FX
A role-playing game in the Lunatic Dawn series from Artdink, released for PC-FX in 1995. In spite of its Japanese origin, Lunatic Dawn is in fact much more similar to very old-school Western RPGs than to its Japanese brethren. It has virtually no story and relies entirely on exploration and strategic combat. Set in a medieval world with little to no distinguishing characteristics, "Lunatic Dawn" throws the player immediately into the game world, which is open for him to explore. The player is able to choose the main character's gender, race (human, elf, etc.), class, and even age - older characters are more powerful, but have a more limited play time. Indeed, the entire gameplay process is timed. Traveling to a remote city or dungeon can take up to several game days. The player has to provide sufficient food for his party during this time. Player party consists of pre-generated characters, who have different names and belong to different races and classes, but have virtually no personality. Food and other supplie

Two young and lovely bounty huntresses, Ryeza and Anita, live in a village that is continuously attacked by monsters. One day, solving a little monster problem in the nearby forest, they encounter a mysterious masked man, who tells Ryeza she wields the power of the sacred jewel Basted. Soon the two girls join forces with a princess in exile, and work together to restore the throne to its rightful owners, persecuted by the ruthless Empire and its allies. Though Basted may look like an RPG at first sight (medieval setting, top-down world, game progression that alternates between towns and dungeons, etc.), it is in fact primarily an action game. Controlling Ryeza and Anita, the player explores the surroundings, talks to people and participates in battles to advance the story. There are no levels, items, equipment, money system, or other required RPG elements. Most battles occur as dictated by the plot, though some are optional. The battles take place on a separate screen. For most battles, the player is able to choo

Gensei Fūkyō Den is a Japanese RPG with a somewhat "light" approach, both in story-telling and gameplay. The gameplay mostly follows the standard procedure of Japanese-style RPGs, although some features are simplified: there is no "world map", and town navigation is menu-based. Most of the gameplay consists of navigating maze-like top-down dungeons, fighting random enemies in turn-based first-person perspective combat. Characters use special points (SP) for powerful attacks and magic points (MP) for spells. Released through Disc Station Vol. 4 in 1994 for PC-9801.

Each chapter has its own plot, setting, and characters.
