In 2007, Vendel was working on a handheld console known as the Atari Flashback Portable. It would run on three "AAA" batteries, and would include a screen resolution of 320x240. It would feature AV output and two joystick controller ports for multiplayer. Games are loaded into internal 2MB memory by use of a USB cable. The release date was projected as early 2008 with a retail price of approximately $40.
