The DNF2001 Restoration Project was created roughly a day or two after the August 21, 2001 and October 26, 2001 versions of Duke Nukem Forever; dated a whole 10 years before the release of the final game, were leaked by x0r_jmp on the /v/ board of 4chan. This resulted in a flurry of renewed interest in Duke and the game itself; and quickly attracted both vets and new blood alike interested in modifying the game's source code.
This Day Zero Edition features two custom weapons, the AK-12G Assault Rifle and Crossbow-B2. Play before the rest of the world with the Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare - Day Zero Edition.
Singularity Complex is an episode of 9 levels for Ultimate Doom, done in the "classic" Doom style. It is the successor of the much acclaimed Classic Episode, so I guess you could also call it Classic Episode 2.
Morior Invictus is a collaborative megawad for Doom II that contains 33 levels, made by the members of the Doomworld community, lead by forgettable pyromaniac. The project's goal was to emulate mapping tendencies of the 90's, but with a more modern approach
Amorphous Euphoria is a random, chaotic, and artsy Doom project with plenty to admire and varied challenges to overcome. Amorphous Euphoria is also Doom Universe's first original community project.
This 11-map set is a pseudo-reimagining of Doom I Episode 3: Inferno, except in Doom II and using Boom features and expanded limits. It should work in anything that can handle the equivalent of complevel-9. Expectations may be subverted, and there should be some surprises along the way!
"Akashic Migraine" is a misshapen, awkward, and unfriendly map i put together as a break from work on time tripper. it's exhausting making detailed, pretty, and generally accessible things all the time, especially when my tastes lean the other way.
there's a reasonable amount of platforming (all of it can be done with running once you work out the angles, don't feel bad about taking it slow or savescumming those bits though) and the combat ramps up quickly from "this is kind of awkward" to "this is kind of awkward light slaughter". generally speaking i configured it to be just enough of a challenge to me.
"The Cognition Engine" is a single Doom 2 map for limit-removing ports. The map is somewhat exploration-focused, takes roughly 25-35 minutes to beat (depending on difficulty and how thorough you are with said exploration).
Difficulties are implemented, UV starts off pretty easy but has a few tough fights near the end, though the difficulty may vary greatly depending on the amount exploration and secret hunting the player does. Because of that, and since the map is fairly lenghty, I recommend saving a few times. Expect HNTR and HMP to be on a significantly easier side.
Khorus' Speedy Shit is a 2011 megawad by Adam Woodmansey (Khorus) consisting of 32 speedmaps built in around 26 days. The secret levels were contributed by guest editors Brian Knox (Snakes) and Tango. It was uploaded on the /idgames archive on 11th November 2011, and was one of the recipients of the 18th Annual Cacowards.
It Only Gets Worse is a jokewad for Doom II and the ZDoom source port by Wills. It was uploaded to the /idgames archive on July 6, 2007, and received the Mockaward at that year's Cacowards.
Atrophy is a boom-compatible map which heavily focuses on atmosphere and exploration. It takes around 30 minutes to beat on first playthrough. Difficulty-wise it should be accessible to most players who've played pwads before, although it can kill you if you're not careful.
A One Rabbit Open Slay is a single Boom map for Doom 2 (MAP01) using the OTEX texture pack as a base. The wad does utilize UMAPINFO, so you will need to run it in a port that supports the format. MAPINFO and a few other enhancements were made for GZDoom as well, so that can also be used. PrBoom+ UM, Woof!, DSDA Doom, and GZDoom were used for testing.
The main objective here is slightly different in that you need to deliver presents to three Christmas trees located throughout the map. Press the "use" key next to one of these trees to drop off the gifts. Once they have all been delivered, return to your sleigh!
CRUD is a four-level Doom II miniwad featuring short, simple maps that start out easy but get significantly harder by the end. I would liken the last map's difficulty to late-TNT, early-Plutonia. Each map uses only stock textures, and the whole wad can be finished in about 15 minutes or so.
These maps are intended for Boom compatible, UMAPINFO enabled ports. This trilogy combines enhanced versions of the first two episodes of the series with some new maps that make up the third episode. We used UMAPINFO to create an episodic structure (with new story text at the end of each episode!), so a port that supports the format will need to be used to play.
The Mapwich 2 is a collaborative megawad for Doom II, first released on October 2020. A sequel to the previous year's The Mapwich, the project was led by Bridgeburner56 and was once again based around the idea of pairing up mappers for each of the levels in the set, but also having the pairs be randomly chosen: the result was contributions of 45 mappers, for a total of 22 maps. Unlike its predecessor, Mapwich 2 is built with the OTEX texture pack by ukiro and integrates the gameplay changes of the Supercharge mod by Tango.
The Mapwich is a collaborative megawad for Doom II, first released on June 2019. The project was led by Bridgeburner56 and based around the idea of pairing up mappers for each of the levels in the set, but also having the pairs be randomly chosen: the result was a total of 30 mappers, for 15 regular maps + 1 hub map. Each mapper was given free reign on what to build and what settings to utilize, the only rules being that the project had to be tested in GZDoom and that only a handful of liquid fall textures and new skies would be used as far as new graphics go, with everything else being stock Doom 1 and Doom 2 assets.
Get ready to blaze through 32 action-packed levels fit to play in any port of choice - echoes of past megawad affairs such as Memento Mori and Alien Vendetta helped to shape the inspiration for this project. Akeldama continues in the spirit of collecting a group of talented mappers and creating a brand new experience for regular doom2.exe.
A collection of 33 new levels for Doom II, ranging from sprawling shootouts to claustrophobic challenge maps.
Designed for both single player and cooperative modes.
There's one brand new enemy, and a new final boss, but otherwise the gameplay is just like Classic Doom.
Something different is happening in the Galaxy: a mysterious cataclysmic event has caused several interdimensional tunnels to open in space, and you are the patrolman Jonas aboard the Twister of Central Command. Without connection and with intense lights invading your cabin, your only alternative is to destroy the ships that cross the tunnels of terror.
