Hell Ground is a seven-level mapset by Alexander S. (Eternal), released on November 15, 2009. It requires a Boom-compatible source port with support of hi-res textures, tall patches and OGG music; the author recommends an OpenGL-compatible port such as GLBoom or GZDoom. It is set in a variety of gloomy and surreal locales, and features moody music taken from American McGee's Alice.
Doom 2 Reloaded (D2RELOAD.WAD) is a 2009 megawad designed by Andy Stewart (eschdoom). Most of the 32 levels contained are vanilla-compatible, but errors could appear at a few points while using the original executable, so it is better to play through a limit removing source port; another reason is that additional graphics are present. Almost all of the maps could be played in deathmatch or cooperative mode.
A DeHackEd patch is used to change the levels' names and par times. This WAD is widely known not only by the means of detail and texture alignment or frequent use of non-standard graphics, but also by enhancing gameplay on some of the levels, most notably on the super secret level, which contains 32 secrets that should be accessed one by one using various techniques including rocket jumping, waiting for a monster to open a locked door from behind or just by careful observation of the level's objects.

Jurassic: The Hunted is a fast-paced first-person shooter that sends players back through time, to pit them against the monstrous creatures that ruled the title era. Survival itself is the greatest measure of success, as the player is challenged to outgun and outsmart aggressive oversized enemies such as raptors, Triceratops, and Tyrannosaurus.
Various game modes have players scavenging the prehistoric environment for useful weapons and equipment, defending makeshift fortifications under siege, and in all-out boss battles and arena fights against giant, ferocious opponents. A bullet-time styled "adrenaline burst" feature allows players to slow the action down during key sequences, for a one-time chance to take careful aim at a dinosaur enemy's most vulnerable points.

The Haunted Hallowe'en Special, officially known as the Terrifying Team Fortress Haunted Hallowe'en Special, was the first update in what would become annual Halloween events. The update was first revealed in a blog post, followed by an immediate release on October 29, 2009. Aside from fixing a few issues, the update introduced two new maps: Harvest and Harvest Event. The release of these maps was unique as it was the first time that the same map had been released in both a standard and an event variety. The patch also introduced two new hazards: the ghost of Zepheniah Mann, which was exclusive to Harvest Event, and the Pumpkin Bomb, which only appears on Halloween-themed maps. Two new cosmetics were also introduced, the Mildly Disturbing Halloween Mask and the Ghastly Gibus, as was a pack of five Halloween-themed achievements known as Scarechievements. Finally, the patch introduced the Halloween pumpkin; a special pickup item that only appears on Halloween-themed maps and randomly drops when a player is killed.
