Partly to facilitate its final release and to lower the download size in the days of largely dial-up connections, it features only new levels and does not contain any new textures, weapons or monsters.
DemoniZed is a two-level PWAD for Doom II and Boom compatible source ports. It was created by Pedro Francisco Puicón (NokturnuS) and released in November 1998. The PWAD was among the first to experiment with TeamTNT's then-new Boom engine, which had been released only a month before, and thus experimented with many new visual and level design effects that were not previously seen in the community.

The direct sequel to The House of the Dead, it was developed by Sega for arcades on the Sega NAOMI board in November 1998 then later ported to the Dreamcast in 1999 and Microsoft Windows in 2001, and is also found on the Xbox as an unlockable bonus in The House of the Dead III. The game appears in the compilation The House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return for Wii. The Dreamcast version became a Sega All Stars title.

Vigilance is a third-person shooter that follows eight agents working for the counter-terrorist organization SION (Special Intelligence Operations Network). The game combines first and third person perspective, allowing the player to control one of eight agents each with varied strengths and weaknesses. Aside from the basic single player mode, it also came with a support of play over LAN and Heat.net.

Dangun Feveron is a vertical scrolling shooter game developed by Cave and published by Nihon System Inc. in 1998. The gameplay is typical of manic shooters, with numerous swarms of enemies onscreen at any given time, and bosses that shoot intimidatingly large clusters of bullets. Unique to this title, the score of the game is disco music, which is a particularly unusual choice for a shoot 'em up.
