Holey Moley was an unreleased prototype written by Bob Polaro. The game was originally programmed back in 1983, but was never commercially released due to ownership changes at Atari. This game requires the use of the Kid's Controller, although the keyboard and touch pad controllers work fine with it also.
A version of Holey Moley complete with a cartridge, manual, box and Kid's Controller overlay was sold at the 2002 Classic Gaming Expo. You can purchase a copy of Holey Moley by visiting Atari2600.com.

You're floating high above the majestic ocean, held aloft by balloons as you gaze your surroundings. But this is no ordinary, leisurely flight! Your goal in Balloon Trip is to collect as many balloons as possible, all the while avoiding electric sparks that will pop your balloons and bring a tragic end to your journey! And if the sparks didn't provide enough danger for you, the water below is also treacherous, full of aggressive fish that will leap into the air to pull you into the murky depths below! So be sure you keep an adequate distance between you and the water, as you don't want to become fish food!
Balloon Trip is a one player game using a joystick plugged into the left controller jack. Pressing the fire button allows you to flap upwards. You'll need to press the button repeatedly in order to ascend. Pressing either left or right on the joystick will allow you to flap towards the respective direction
Kelly the kangaroo is enjoying a lovely picnic date with Rosie the rabbit in the picturesque Mossy Valley when - Oh no! The mad scientist Contemptus Mundy, always bitter and jealous of the happy people living on Gaia Gaia Island, has kidnapped Rosie and locked her away in his motherbase in the clouds! It's up to you to help Kelly save her sweetheart before it's too late and that vile Contemptus whisks her away to the stars.
Use the joystick to make Kelly hop to the left or right, and hold the fire button to perform a much higher jump to reach her goal. Contemptus Mundy's mothership has one weakness in it's anti affection forcefields and that is the prisoner's favorite food. In this case, strawberries! Kelly must collect six strawberries scattered around the obstacle course in order to free Rosie from her lame and apathetic captor.
Kelly will face many dangers along the way, from angry bees, carniverous flowers, agressive bats and automatic flying saucer drones. Most can be knocked out simply by jumping on them, b
Assembloids 2600 is a fast-paced reaction puzzle game in just 4K for the Atari 2600. Author Martin Wendt restricted himself to 4K for this project, since he considers this limit to be working within the original spirit of the machine. It is quite challenging to create a polished, enjoyable game within 4K of space!
Upon starting a game, your screen shows five windows. There is one central window and one each in the four neighboring sides. A quarter of a face in a particular color is displayed in the central window and you can place it by moving the joystick up, right, down, or left if the corresponding tile is still empty - if the tile is not empty, you'll lose one of your precious lives. While you are making the decision where to move the face piece, the timer bar decreases faster and faster.
Once a full face is complete, the windows are cleared again and you are awarded points. The number of points depends on the matching of colors for your completed face. A full face of the same color gains you 300 points. Havi
Mondo Pong was Piero Cavina's first programming effort on the Atari 2600 and is an evil variation on the game that started it all, Pong. In this version there are two balls and they each have a mind of their own! Sometimes the ball will double back at you after you hit it, other times it might just spin around in circles for a bit, keeping you on your toes as you wait for it to shoot off in some direction (hopefully not at you!)
There are several game variations that allow you to select one or two players and a score limit of 15 or 45. There is also a normal vs. hard option, but that is not implemented in this version of Mondo Pong.
This is an Alpha Version of Mondo Pong as it was never completed! Therefore, the game doesn't have the polish you might expect from a finished game and there may be a few bugs. Nevertheless, it's still an interesting concept and a hoot to play.
For thousands of years, the inhabitants of Gytaraxis have lived in peace thanks to the energy barriers that protect their planet and its power source, the Vityrian Crystals.
Hoping to seize the power crystals for itself in an effort to make its armies invincible, the evil Calamitous Cube has declared war on Gytaraxis. Using virulent vibrations, the Calamitous Cube has eaten holes through the energy barriers that protect Gytaraxis.
In an effort to fend off the Calamitous Cube, the Gytaraxians have called upon the legendary repairship known as Gyvolver to fix the energy barriers and keep the crystals from falling into the Calamitous Cube’s grasp.
You are an explorer from the year 2350. Much of the world's rainforests have been logged, leading to the discovery of a large temple constructed by ancient civilizations eons ago. You are among the first to be allowed to explore it.
The entrance to this temple is across a long stone bridge, which you have chosen to drive across. Inside the temple you find a golden idol on a stone pedestal. Although you have been instructed to leave everything you find, your greed gets the better of you and you remove the idol from where it has sat for thousands of years.
Suddenly, the ground begins to shake. Bricks fall from the ceiling. Maybe this wasn't such a good idea! You run outside just as the entrance caves in. As you get in your car and drive away, you realize that the bridge's supports have dislodged and it's all collapsing behind you! There's no time to think — just drive!
Well, hello there!! My name is Starling, Ray Starling. I love sounding all James-Bondy. I'm here to tell you a little secret. I have an odd job, by odd job I mean I kill people and blow things up. Now killing people for money is frowned upon and anyone with any common sense would turn their backs on it. For me, this job, THIS JOB, is my crowning moment. How many people can say that the President of the United States hand-picked YOU for your unique resume.
You see, there are a bunch of bad guys in a military base doing bad things to some good people. I am going to stop them. Now here's my plan, one I hope you agree with. So listen up and let me tell you...
Traffic Cop is a cops and robbers sytle 2600 game created by Robbie Hill. This simplistic game has a simple concept, but is a challenge to play. Player 1 (the cop) has to ram Player 2 (the criminal) six times (or four depending on difficulty) before the gamers timer runs out. Player 2 must survive within the time limit.
The game contains 7 levels, 1-4 are multiplayer, some with various obstacles. Games 5-7 are singleplayer, were Player 1 goes up against the 2600 itself.
An Atari 2600 demake of the iconic futuristic racer by Psygnosis / SCE Studio Liverpool.
Steer with the joystick, avoid the other racers, or shoot them with your missiles. Speed up with the speed boosts and refill the clock with the energy points.
This is a "new" version of Pac-Man for Atari 2600 I've been programming since about 2007, but had left in 2008, then in 2013 I resume again to try to finish.
I've been trying to make it as close to the original looking at various sites on the "AI" Ghosts, game logic, etc.
This version has nothing to do with the other version called pacman4k, this is a completely new version, do not use any undocumented opcode.
Currently the rom is about 120 bytes free, so I'm trying to add other things.
You are a magical flying stick of bacon! Press FIRE to launch an all organic torpedo. Move using the joystick. Game speed will increase with time. Colliding with the ant, fly or lettuce will deduct a life. When all 6 lives are gone the game is over. Below is a description of each object you can interact with.
Space Rocks is an impressive blending of the classic arcade games Asteroids and Asteroids Deluxe, crafted for the Atari 2600 by Darrell Spice, Jr. If you're a fan of either arcade cabinet (or both!), you'll love Space Rocks! While Atari's version of Asteroids for the 2600 was passable at the time of its release, Space Rocks blasts far ahead of this early effort. Taking full advantage of the DPC+ mode in our Melody Board, Space Rocks pushes the Atari 2600 to its limits and offers a wide variety of gameplay options to keep you playing for years to come. The graphics, animations, and sound effects are well above what is typically experienced on the 2600.
