The second game in the Lennus / Paladin's Quest series. The games development was very troubled and took four years instead of the planned two. Upon release it sold very poorly, even after being promoted through Nintendo Power. This caused the plans for Lennus III to be shelved. The magic system have been expanded to eight spirits representing the elements Fire, Light, Wind, Gold, Earth, Sky, Water and Void. Which can be combined or used separately for a total of 36 spells. Instead of building up a spirit skill rating by using the spells relating to the spirit, in Lennus II you power up the spirits by defeating monsters and earning spirit-specific experience points in addition to the normal experience points. A Nintendo Power version of the game was released in 1997.

Two new Japanese characters were added to the roster of fighters: Aoi Umenokoji, a beautiful Japanese woman and a childhood friend of Akira Yuki who used a nimble form of Aiki-jujutsu as her fighting style of choice, and Taka-Arashi, a Sumo wrestler from Japan. Taka Arashi would not make another appearance in the Virtua Fighter series until Virtua Fighter 5 R; the series' current producer, Hiroshi Kataoka explained that the removal of Taka in subsequent installments was due to the technical implications of having a substantially larger character.

This is a homemade game created using the game creation tool "Click & Create." It was released on the Japanese file-sharing site Vector in 1996 and was also featured in the computer magazine "TECH Win" at the time. The creators are "Sankaku Onigiri & Tomo-chan." Apparently, it was co-created with the author's third-grade son. The game was eventually deleted from Vector and seemingly forgotten, until 2008, when someone accidentally discovered the game's data and posted a gameplay video on Nico Nico Douga. The game's strange gameplay and music, as well as the protagonist's bizarre behavior upon death, became a huge hit among a small group of people, and at the author's request, it was re-released on Vector.
