Playing it will require careful planning, improvisation, and correspondence with your city's constituents to fix problems and make everyone happy. You can personally telephone residents to hear their opinions, or even tune in on various TV channels to survey Tokio. Every little counts: your political party platform, the techno-industrial automation needed to power Tokio & its economy, and even space tourism via space shuttles and other programs—among others! Elements like artificial gravity, weather control, and orbital mining can also make or break your term as mayor, so manage it all to the best of your ability.

The game consists of 20 missions with the final one culminating with a battle between the player and "The Red Baron". Missions are basically the same as in its' predecessor Wings. There are bombing missions where you have to take out targets that were circled in an aerial photograph, strafing runs where you get to blast anything that you fancy blasting with an unlimited supply of ammo, and of course the main part: dogfights in the sky. If a mission is completed successfully, the player can power up the successful pilot in four skill categories: flying, shooting, mechanics, and stamina. A failed mission can lead to either a dishonorable discharge or death for the pilot.

Like most entries in the series, A Ressha de Ikou MD was not released outside of Japan, although A Ressha de Ikou III, rebranded as A-Train was brought to western computers by Maxis, also in 1992.

ATAC: The Secret War Against Drugs

    1992

    Simulator
    DOS
ATAC can be described as two games in one. On the strategic level, you need to figure out how the drug barons are forming their pipeline and the best way to destroy the pipeline while causing minimal damage to the civilian population, while defending your own base against intruders and attackers. You can order recon flights or gather intelligence from rebels and DEA agents on the ground. When you get enough intelligence, you can issue target orders to up to 4 crafts (F-22's or AH-64's). and they'll go accomplish those missions if they can. Once you're off in the air, the game becomes first-person simulator, where you fly through the jungles of South America chasing the target you need to destroy while fighting the drug baron's mercenary forces. How you do in one will affect how you do in the other.
