With GM Hockey 2009, you can do everything that comes with the job: trade players, put them on waivers, blame your coach for the long losing streak (and even fire him), blame your superstar for not performing enough, and so on.
This cartridge contains a computer program for soccer on the screen - played according to the rulebook with two teams of eleven players each. There are two halves of 4½ minutes each (with change of end), and the idea is to score as many goals as possible.
Built around 15 entertaining mini-games and with a host of smaller fun asides, U Move Super Sports literally drops the player into a series of madcap sporting scenarios. Sony's innovative EyeToy USB Camera is used to place the player on the screen as they take part in games requiring a series of physical movements from players.
U Move Super Sports features mini-games including Perfect Goal, where the player lines up to save a penalty against a CPU striker, Hole in One a brilliant golf simulation and Rugby Crash, wherein players must physically tackle a rugby player. Additional games include Ball-Tossing Aliens, a second football mini-game called Yellow Card, and Sling Shot all of which will test the player's reflexes to their limits. As an aside to the fun of the sub-games, U Move Super Sports also boasts a number of sub-stages within the game's 'Art Studio' mode that introduces a more puzzle-based aspect to the game.
ESPN Major League Baseball is the successor to Sega's World Series Baseball 2k3. Back are all of the game play modes from last years release: exhibition, playoffs, season, and franchise. Additionally, gamecast, duel, situation and GM career have been added to the game.
V-Ball - Beach Volley Heroes is the sequel to the NES game Super Spike V'Ball, an arcade game that deals with beach volleyball in a very special way.
There are several teams you can choose from, such as Soldiers, Ninjas, Soccer players and so on, and each of them has got its own moves and special effects. There are commands for both heavy shots and for light ones, making you choose the strength to hit and throw the ball. There are no power bars and once hit, the ball flies to the opposing side automatically.
The special moves can be triggered whenever you push certain button combinations (triangle and circle, circle and cross, etc) at the right moment. If it is a defense move, for instance, you must do it in response to others attacks.
There is a Tournament mode, which is the main solo entertainment (although you can also play single matches vs the AI), but this game is clearly designed around player-vs-player mode, for arcade matches against human opponents.
