Playing a time traveller, "Time Master Tim," the player's objective is to collect dinosaur eggs and rescue hatchling dinosaurs while avoiding snakes ("proto-snakes"), gigantic spiders ("proto-spiders"), flying creatures ("proto-pedes"), and the dinosaurs' mother (or "Dino Mom"). Physical contact with any creature will cause the player to be contaminated, and the player will experience "devolution" into a prehistoric spider (as a result of "contamination"), and lose a life, unless the player returns to the "time warp" transport force field before a de-evolution timer runs out. Contamination also destroys eggs and hatchling dinosaurs on contact, reducing the player's score. Generations Lost is a platform action game in which the player takes the role of Monobe, an adventurer on the search for the past of his people. Thanks to his magic armour Monobe is able to execute many different moves. Besides running and jumping, Monobe can roll on the ground, deliver blows with hands and feet, and shoot energy balls. With the help of an energy rope Monobe can swing from platform to platform. Most of the time, Monobe has to solve several puzzles, find secret switches and survive deadly traps. Clockwork Knight 2 uses identical gameplay to that of its predecessor, right down to using all the same items and having four rooms with three levels each, plus a final boss. However, there are three minor additions: Four playing cards are scattered around each level. Spinning all four cards gives players a Gold Key; collecting all 32 cards in the game yields a secret code. There are some forced scrolling levels in which Pepper rides on the back of his steed Barobaro. Attacking is done not with Pepper's key in these levels, but by firing Barobaro's head at enemies. An additional game mode called "Bosses Galore" lets the player control either Pepper or Ginger in fighting all the bosses of both Clockwork Knight games one after the other.
