star 7It is the 1990s. In the beginning, World War III has at last expired. The people are left to pick up the pieces and rebuild their civilizations. However, vicious gangs that prey on these defenseless citizens are obstructing the reconstruction. The main protagonists are Boris, Wade and Kyle, vigilantes who protect the feared and helpless. Their largest problem is the corrupt, incorrigible, ruthless and lethal gang known as "The Geld Gang". They have commissioned every type of person imaginable. Purple-haired, leather-clad, chain-wielding, lead-pipe swinging, masked, martial art, orange-mohawked and men so strong and immune to pain they use manhole covers as shields. Masked Riders Club: Battle Race is a top-down action racing game based on the Kamen Rider television franchise. The game consists of nine vertically-scrolling levels that need to be completed before time runs out, with themes such as an industrial environment, a beach, a snowy environment etc., each with its own enemies. At the start the player chooses one of ten superhero Kamen Riders (Rider 1, Rider 2, Rider V3, Riderman, Rider X, Amazon, Stronger, Super1, Rider 2X or Black RX). The riders are grasshopper-themed altered humans and each come with his own motorcycle rated in three different statistics as well as a unique weapon such as a blade, a hook, a short burst of fire, or a pole. The single-player game is only played on the left side of the screen. The middle part shows progress through the level map and the right map the global map of the nine levels. Dark Edge is a 1992 fighting game by Sega for the Sega System 32. It uses sprite scaling to simulate a 3D playfield, meaning it predates Virtua Fighter as a 3D fighter by about a year (though the 3D in Virtua Fighter isn't simulated, but rather true rendered 3D graphics). You can play as either warriors or monsters, but otherwise this is a typical fighting game with a dedicated jump button (as Up moves back). Title Fight is a behind-the-back boxing game developed by Sega-AM3 and released by Sega for arcades (using Sega System 32 hardware) in 1993. A spiritual successor to Sega's 1987 game Heavyweight Champ, Title Fight features a similar twin-joystick control setup that corresponds each oversized joystick (or "glove handle") with each of their boxer's arms, giving the illusion of throwing actual punches and guarding or dodging their opponent. The game follows one of several boxers in their journey to winning the championship belt. Title Fight takes full advantage of the hardware's sprite-scaling effects not only for the large character sprites, but also for the ring itself (which now rotates in a 3D space, allowing for 3D side-stepping).
