Terrorists are trying to change history by helping Germany to win the Battle of Normandy on D-Day. You have to keep them from changing history. You fly a helicopter and command troops advancing on the enemies base.
Fracas is Stuart Smith's very first game, using the game system which would later develop into Ali Baba and the Forty Thieves and ultimately Adventure Construction Set. Like those games, it is combat-oriented turn-based RPG and one of its main features is the large numbers of characters, both good and bad, that can get involved in the battles at once. You may control one or more characters in the game, and move them about fighting bad guys and gaining treasures.
The player controls a small craft, navigating it through a series of winding caverns and tunnels while shooting or avoiding obstacles. The caverns scroll from the bottom of the screen to the top at a fixed speed, so the player must always move forward.
You are in control of a stationary gun turrent at the bottom of the screen. Planes drop bombs and paratroopers jump out of helicopters which you have to shoot. Every hit gains you points - every shot you fire looses you points.
You have lost if a bomb destroys your turrent, a paratrooper lands directly on your turrent or four paratroopers land at any side of your turrent. In that case they are able to build a human pyramid to infiltrate your turrent and blow it up.
RobotWar is a strategy/puzzle/simulation hybrid by Silas Warner, creator of Castle Wolfenstein for MUSE Software. The game is best described as a cross between two later games: Origin's OMEGA and Maxis' RoboSport.
Your task is to design robots, and program them to win fights in the arena. Using a language similar to BASIC, the game offers a surprisingly large number of commands you can use, a wide variety of robots.
