Toaru Majutsu no Index is a fighting game based on the Toaru Majutsu no Index universe. The game features an original story by the author of the series, Kamachi Kazuma. As with many fighting games, players choose a characters from a lineup, and engage in hand-to-hand combat with an opponent. It is primarily a competitive two player series, but a human player can fight an AI-controlled character for practice, amusement, or to advance the game's story. In the game the player has the option of using a partner to be used as support during the match. A polygonal 3D fighter, Time Warriors puts eight fighters from eight different times and places against each other: Yrwen the Celt, armed with a long sword, Hysis the Egyptian, wielding two sabers, Molloch the Barbarian with his battle axe, the scimitar-wielding Sultan Iz-Baal, Shodan the Samurai and his katana, from a Chinese monastery Dong brings just a staff, Olof the Viking plans flattening his opponents with a war hammer and Apokles the Spartan brings a double-edged sword. Gameplay is similar to other games in the same genre - two buttons control the weapon and two other ones kicking, because both come with a "fast" and a "strong" variant. Combos are done with fast key presses or sequential moves, and by taking damage, the fighter gathers magic points that can be used to perform a destructive special attack. Like Virtua Fighter, if a fighter falls from the battle arena, he or she loses from ring out. Cyber Troopers Virtual-On Force is a 3D mecha fighting game developed by Sega AM3 (formerly Hitmaker) and published by Sega. It was released in Japanese arcades only on the Sega Hikaru arcade system board in 2001. Following its initial release, there was initially no home console port of the game due to the Hikaru's superior graphical capabilities. A region free home port of the game was released for Xbox 360 on December 22, 2010. The Xbox 360 version retains the same gameplay as the original series, only with a few inclusions: 2 on 2 Leader Battles, co-op boss fight mode, a Mission mode and Xbox Live support for online play. Battles have local 2 player splitscreen or up to 4 player over System Link. Kamen Rider: Climax Heroes is a 3D crossover fighting game featuring the heroes of 10 different Kamen Rider TV series, from Kuuga through to Decade. The story is set in the Decade universe, where the worlds of the other nine Riders are all combining into one, and they must work together to save their worlds before they are completely destroyed. The game plays much like other 3D fighters such as Tekken, with the major addition being the so-called "Form Change" system that allows each Rider to transform during battle, and even in the middle of a combo. The main story mode is "Decade Mode", where the player must complete various missions with different characters to proceed through the story. There are also standard Versus, Survival, and Training modes. The game also includes a simple control option for younger players.
