A licensed version of a British TV game show from the late 1980s.
The game features 3 players, all either human or computer. Each chooses a category of questions out of 12 on offer - some are for a single sport (such as soccer or cricket) while others a more general (such as Indoor Sport and Pot Luck).
Your ship has minimal shields to protect you from slamming into walls as you navigate the deep underground tunnels. But it's not easy: You'll have no idea which tunnels are the fastest/shortest until a split second before you get to them, and there are alien weapons trying to destroy you along the way.
If you manage to complete the run and save the earth, you can tell the program to randomly generate an entirely new game with different tunnels for endless replayability.
The idea of the game is to guide Terry to his house through 12 levels of obstacles and adversaries. You have 2 choices of ammunition to fend off the relentless stream of creatures, your trusty Yo-Yo or stones that you find along the way. Some of the nasties require more than one hit in order to destroy them and some will have to be avoided altogether.
After each round is completed you are placed in a Bonus level before entering the next round. There are some areas in each section which may only be entered if you have found a key. These are found, as are most of the features, by catching them having hit a baddie.
Caverns of Kroz is the 3rd game in the Original Kroz Trilogy made by Apogee founder Scott Miller in 1989. This one offers 40 levels. Gameplay and of course the use of ASCII characters as graphics are identical to Kingdom of Kroz.
Super Bubble Bobble is a platform game, replicating the gameplay and levels of Bubble Bobble, with each level being a single screen. The enemies must be cleared from a level to go on to the next one. With one player controlling Bub and the other controlling Bob, the player can jump and collect items for points. Bub and Bob must blow bubbles. These bubbles can be as platforms to leap on, or to trap enemies. Enemies trapped in a bubble must be popped by jumping into them, wherein they'll turn to fruit. These fruits must be collected! Additionally, power-ups sometimes float by in bubbles. They include lightning, which flies out horizontally at enemies, and water, which drags the player and enemies straight down flowing over platforms.
The game allows to simulate World War II in Europe on a grand strategic scale. The player controls land, sea and air action and has to manage limited resources for production and advanced research.
The Crack of Doom is the last game in Melbourne House's series of adventure games based on Tolkien's Lord of the Rings.
The gameplay combines a text-based adventure with illustrations from the main character's perspective. Players interact with the game using text-based descriptions and a parser system to execute actions.
