Metamor Panic: Doki Doki Yōma Busters!! is a visual novel-style adventure game with RPG elements. The adventure scenes mostly proceed linearly, with the player occasionally asked to choose an action, such as choosing what subject to ask a character about, or investigating a certain object. Combat sequences will also occasionally occur, which take a standard turn-based JRPG format where the three characters fight against yōkai. The game doesn't simply use the trappings of an RPG for flavor; it includes leveling up, character stats, and item management and, unlike many games in this style, there is the possibility of losing fights leading to a game over.
Kurou is employed at a firm focused on "headhunting," scouting and hiring talented individuals for major corporations. A new client, representing a company that just finalized a deal with an American software company, is seeking a secretary. The issue: the previous headhunter assigned to a similar task has vanished. As a result, Kurou’s boss tasks him with investigating the situation, partnering him with the clever and charming headhunter Tomoko.
Abel is a turn-based Japanese-style RPG set in a dark futuristic environment. The player commands Abel and his teammates from the headquarters, where they can rest, receive items, and prepare for the next mission. The missions themselves take place in large dungeon-like areas. Randomly appearing enemies must be defeated in first-person perspective combat with a rather standard system: characters either attack physically, use items, or execute special attacks that require "special points" (equivalent to magic). There is also an Auto option for battles.
Unlike the first Idol Project, the story of the sequel is directly related to to the anime series Idol Project, starring the same characters, with the young and ambitious Mimu Emilton as the protagonist.

Tengai Makyou Zero: Shonen Jump no Shou is a special promotional version of the game, tied in with the Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine. Though it seemingly has very few differences from the original game (such as the title screen), the game is extremely rare and is quite possibly the most expensive Super Famicom game. Equally rare is the promotional clock in the style of the game cartridge to promote the use of the Real Time Clock (RTC) in-game. They removed one building and event from the original game. In one of the towns, they replaced it with the Kodansha office. This version adds an additional character and item that doesn't exist in the original.
